Penquis

Penquis provides transportation services throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis counties. Rides are FREE for qualifying individuals (including residents of Millinocket, East Millinocket, and Medway thanks to Age-Friendly Millinocket), but anyone can access Penquis rides for a small fee. Penquis Transportation Brokerage
Will coordinate all rides for MaineCare non-emergency transportation using vans, volunteer’s cars, regional bus services and friends and family. Services are a no cost and available to MaineCare members with a two business days’ notice. To coordinate transportation services for your MaineCare appointments, please call: (207) 974-2420 or 1-855-437-5883.

Lynx Mobility Services
Providing curb-to-curb transportation for those living in rural areas throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties for shopping appointments or just visiting a friend. The fee varies depending on the location.  All services are available by appointment only. General Public Transportation
Transportation for everyday needs like banking and shopping.  Cost varies depending on where the customer is going and where they live.  A two business day notice is required.

Access to Cancer Treatment
With funding provided by the Maine Cancer Foundation, and the John T. Gorman Foundation, the Lynx can pick up individuals up at their home and bring them to treatment, or any service that is part of treatment.  They also provide mileage reimbursement for those who transport themselves or have a friend or family member transport.  *No income requirement.

The Transportation Assistance Project (T.A.P.)
This program is available to individuals with a mental health diagnosis.  Gasoline vouchers, mileage reimbursement, bus passes or full service transportation is available to a variety of non-MaineCare covered services. This program is intended to be used as a short-term program for a 90-day period. Certain restrictions apply. To learn more visit their webpage.

DHHS Low Income
This is for non-MaineCare covered trips, individuals could have MaineCare for their medical trips, but use low-income for shopping.
