About Thrive Penobscot
Thrive Penobscot, based out of Millinocket Regional Hospital, is made up of 28 community partners and growing. We are addressing some of the most pressing issues and needs facing seniors and those living with chronic disease and disability in the Katahdin and Lincoln Lakes region. By facilitating the collaboration of multiple sectors, Thrive Penobscot is increasing knowledge and availability of resources for transportation, food insecurity, and social isolation. The goal of the collaborative is to link people to resources to live well longer in a place they call home.
We are thrilled to partner with the following organizations to collaborate to support our mission.
KFI (Katahdin Friends Inc.)
KFI provides innovative customized supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can live in homes of their own, work competitively, and engage as typical citizens in their communities.
AARP Chapter 2652
AARP is an organization open to anyone 50 years of age or older. AARP provides all members an opportunity for regular socializing at monthly meetings and sponsored events and encourages members to volunteer for service projects within the community. Membership in national AARP also provides discounted prices for many goods and services.

Millinocket Regional Hospital (MRH)
Millinocket Regional Hospital is a not for profit, 501C3 healthcare organization. It is a critical access hospital that primarily services the Katahdin region.
Health Access Network (HAN)
Health Access Network has clinic locations in the rural communities of Lincoln, Medway, Millinocket, West Enfield, and Lee (Maine). HAN’s service area includes 19 organized towns, plus numerous unorganized plantations and territories, in northern central Maine with a total population of approximately 23,000 people. HAN provides comprehensive primary healthcare, dental care, podiatry, and behavioral healthcare services to all residents, regardless of their ability to pay.
Penobscot Valley Hospital (PVH)
Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln has been serving the community for over 40 years with a wide variety of services and treatment options. We strive to provide the highest quality care in an efficient, caring, and professional manner.
Eastern Area Agency on Aging (EAAA)
Eastern Area Agency on Aging has been serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, Hancock, and Washington counties since 1973. EAAA incorporated in 1974. With a specially trained and dedicated staff, we are able to provide seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers with a variety of options, opportunities, resources and referrals and have for almost 40 years.
Community Health and Counseling Services (CHCS)
Community Health and Counseling Services is a private non-profit organization that provides community-based home health, hospice, and mental health services to adults and children in central, eastern, southern and northern Maine. More than 9,000 people benefit each year from the efforts of professional, support, and management staff of the agency.
Penquis (CAP agency)
Penquis is a community of people who have joined in a common mission to assist individuals and families in preventing, reducing, or eliminating poverty in their lives and, through partnerships, to engage the community in addressing economic and social needs. Penquis primarily serves low- and moderate-income individuals in Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox Counties, though several programs extend well beyond these boundaries. Transportation, Stearns Assisted Living.
In-Home Care’s service area covers Northern Penobscot, Piscataquis and Aroostook Counties. We have always been committed to bringing the highest quality of care to our clients. We are dedicated to seeing the clients in all of the communities that we serve lead a safe, happy and healthy life in their home.
Millinocket Fire/Rescue Department
The mission of the Millinocket Fire/Rescue Department is to protect lives, the environment, and property by providing prompt, skillful, and cost-effective fire protection and life safety services. We are committed to providing this valuable service not only for the citizens of this town but also as a partner to the “Millinocket Regional Hospital” who also provides a valuable service for the people in this community.

Recreation Department (Millinocket, East Millinocket, Medway, Woodville)
The towns of Millinocket, East Millinocket and Medway collaborate to offer recreation programs for the residents of all three towns. Every season has something fun for everyone. Our recreation department offers many programs for the youth and the young at heart in our towns. We work with the Recreation Committees in our neighbor towns to offer a wide variety of programs for the Katahdin Region.
Katahdin Area Support Group (KASG)
A local volunteer organization that strives to offer support to cancer patients and their families in the Katahdin region that includes towns of Millinocket, East Millinocket, and Medway. (207)723-5769.
Golden Key Senior Center (GKSC)
Providing activities, opportunities, and adventures for the over-50 folks in northern Penobscot County and beyond.

Katahdin Region Higher Education Center
The Katahdin Region Higher Education Center is an off-campus center of Eastern Maine Community College and the University of Maine system, giving you the opportunity to attend college close to your home.

Rep. Stephen Stanley
Rep. Stephen S. Stanley is serving his third consecutive term in the Maine House of Representatives, having previously served ten years in both the House and the Senate. Rep. Stanley is a member of Penquis Cap and the Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2015, Stanley founded the Katahdin Revitalization Group, a volunteer organization in the Katahdin region to strengthen and support the community. He was previously county commissioner for eight years.

Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is located at 85 Hammond Street in Bangor, Maine at the county complex which is the home of the County Commissioners Office and other county functions. The agency consists of the divisions of corrections, patrol, court security, civil, and detective.
